Read more about: International Airport "Galileo Galilei" in PisaIf you land at Florence airport, you need to reach the city centre (Amerigo Vespucci airport is not properly in the centre of Florence), then you can take a bus or train to Versilia.
From Florence airport you can take a shuttle bus to the Florence Santa Maria Novella central train station (it takes about 45 minutes), where buses and trains leave for Lucca and Versilia. Volainbus shuttle bus and ATAF city bus n. 62 connect the airport with Florence city centre.
- The main railway station of Versilia is located in Viareggio, where long distance trains usually pass. Viareggio station is connected to all the other towns and villages of the area, through a regional railway network.
From Santa Maria Novella (Florence central station) you will find some trains leaving for Lucca, which go on till Viareggio.
From Firenze Rifredi (a smaller station in Florence than the Santa Maria Novella one) every 20 minutes you will find regional trains regularly leaving for Lucca and Versilia. In order to reach Rifredi station in Florence, you can choose to take a train (Rifredi is located 5 minutes far from SMN), or eventually a bus.

CONNECTIONS FROM/TO THE AIRPORT:
The airport of Florence has direct access to the highway Florence–Pisa (exit Pisa centre–airport), to the motorway A12 Genova–Rosignano (exit Pisa Centre), to the motorway A11 Florence–Pisa Nord (through the junction of Pisa nord with the A12), and finally to the state street SS1 Aurelia.
ARRIVING BY TRAIN...
- If you land at the Galileo Galilei Airport, the most convenient in order to reach Versilia is to catch the train from Pisa, where you can find direct lines to Camaiore, Viareggio, Pietrasanta, Forte dei Marmi-Seravezza-Querceta, Massarosa, Lucca and even Genoa's station. Pisa is located about 25 kilometres far from Versilia and it will take from 20 to 45 minutes, to reach any chosen destination.
- If you arrive from Florence, you will find a railway service that, leaving from Florence Central Station (Santa Maria Novella), go directly to Lucca and Viareggio.
There are also regional trains to Viareggio that regularly leave from Campo di Marte station.

ARRIVING BY CAR...
Versilia is well connected to the rest of Italy through a good highway network, so that it is well accessible both coming from Italy and from abroad.
There are two motorway exits to this area, which are "Versilia" and "Viareggio". The Versilia exit is for who is reaching North Versilia (the towns of Forte dei Marmi, Pietrasanta, Seravezza and Stazzema) while the Viareggio exit is useful to reach quickly South Versilia (the municipalities of Viareggio, Camaiore and Massarosa).
- from Genoa and the Italian Riviera: you can reach North Versilia by driving southwards along the A12 highway until the exit Versilia. Take the exit Viareggio-Camaiore if your destination is South Versilia.
- from Milan: you have to take the A1 as far as Fidenza, where you can take the A15 (the so called Cisa highway) and follow the way to La Spezia. Then, in La Spezia enter the A12 southwards to Versilia.
- from Florence: driving along the A11 higway directly to the exit Pisa Nord. From Pisa take the SS Aurelia to Torre del Lago and Viareggio.
- from Rome: driving along the A1 as far as Florence, then take the A11 to Pisa Nord (as above).
- from Triveneto area: entering the A4 Milano-Venezia highway you will arrive in Brescia, where you can take the A21 in Cremona direction and go on to Parma until entering the A1 and follow the Parma-La Spezia way. Once in La Spezia enter the A12 and drive southwards to the exits Versilia or Viareggio-Camaiore.

MOVING AROUND VERSILIA
